{/photo_and_caption}Angie (now 10 years old) was born and raised in the Catholic religion in Ciénaga, Colombia. When she was only 8 months old a Mosquito bit her on her left leg causing a large infection that required her to have a small surgery. When the doctors did the surgery, the main tendon on her leg was affected. As time passed Angie’s mother could see that the problem was not getting any better because Angie was not walking.
The doctors gave Angie leg braces and special shoes to help improve her condition but to no avail. Angie’s condition grew worse and worse twisting her leg to such a degree that she could not even put any weight on it at all. Another surgery was attempted to fix the ligament in her leg but ended with great disappointment.
At this point the only way that Angie could get around was by hopping on one leg or with the assistance of another individual. Then, something amazing happened that would alter the direction of her life forever.
Angie's mother saw an advertisement on TV for the Gospel Festival with Andrew Friesen. The advertisement said that "the blind see, the deaf hear, and the lame walk." This gave Angie's mother faith that her daughter could be healed and walk again. So they went to the Festival. On the second night of the Festival when they were praying and receiving miracles from Jesus Angie felt something in her leg and got up from the chair. Her mother was worried and asked her if she wanted to sit back down on her chair but Angie didn’t want to sit down. Rather, she stood straight up on her feet for the first time in her life began to walk all by herself. The last night she made it up to the platform with her mother to testify how Jesus had healed her. I was so overwhelmed! Especially when I found out that they were both strict Catholics. "God loves all people" I said, as Angie could demonstrated that Jesus healed her by walking on the platform. Praise the Lord Jesus! It was a joy to go to her home the next day and see how can now walk without her braces. She said “I want to put on sandles like the rest of the kids and walk to the library."
What a touching story of a life and future that now has hope all because of God's everlasting love for all people in and through Jesus Christ. "For God so loved the world..." John 3:16. To Jesus be all the praise for what He has done and is doing in transforming lives for eternity. Thank you partners. -Andrew
